This is sort of relevant to CC in that my question could give applicants a feel for the academic climate at UChicago. I know several of the alumni who comment on this board could very well have crossed paths with Paul Romer in the 80's and 90's. Did any of you know him? Taught by him? What do you think of him getting the award? Why did he leave UChicago? Any good stories? Thanks.
