AP Credit Question

So the Website states the following Credit for no more than six general electives may be gained by any combination of AP, placement, accreditation, IB, or other examinations. The website also states English Language and Composition 4 or 5: 3 quarters general elective credit Does that mean that if you pass the above English AP exam with a 4 or a 5, you get credit for 3 electives out of the 6 allowed? Is that what 3 quarters general elective credit means? Also does Biology 4: 1 quarter general education (BIOS 10130) Biology 5: 1 quarter general education (BIOS 10130)+ mean that you can instead just take 5 courses in the Gen Ed Math/Science portions, so 2 Math, 2 Physical Sciences and 1 Biology since you now have credit for 1 Biology? Anybody care to clarify?
